Hi Reader,
I often feel like three things happen in December. We're either:
- coasting to the end of the year. Finishing all those things we left until a quieter time, or that have been carried forward month of month, to-do list by to-do list and they now have to be done so we have everything squared away.
- frantically busy. Suddenly clients have flashes of inspiration, must-start-plan-and-finish projects before the end of the year. Enquiries are coming in as people start to plan ahead.
- already mentally in next year. Planning out Q1 and making a start on goals.
Which one are you?
Most years I would say I am part #1 and part #3, but this year my mind is more in Q1 2025 as I plan what's to come. I have been able to dedicate a lot do time over the past 3 months to next year and future goals while the business has kept running and steadily growing alongside that.
This has only been possible because of the foundational systems I have in place that the business is built on. I know I can shift my focus where it's needed and my business will keep delivering exactly how I want it to.
A combination of factors make up this foundation, it's not all tech as you might immediately think. It's the relationships, delivery frameworks, the project management platforms, the automation, the energy, and my own personal productivity and that of my team that keeps everything running as it does.
Do you have this strong foundation for your business?
It became clear to me during this year that a lot of business owners don't have this reliability, and this is stalling their growth, their productivity, and impacting the confidence, energy and positivity that they could bring to keep building an incredible business.
If you have some time before the end of the year (or if you have just read that paragraph and nodded along), take some time to reflect on:
- your relationships - with your clients, your team, your network and your audience. Are you enjoying being part of your community?
- your delivery frameworks - how do you deliver the work you do? Can you enhance the experience your clients have?
- your tech platforms - are they actually working for you? Do you need them all? Can you streamline the way you use them to make work flow better?
- your energy and productivity - are you working in a way that suits you? Do you need to change how you're working to keep you more focused and energised? How are you looking after yourself outside of your business?
All these points add up to a feel-good foundation for success, which is what we need to cultivate to build a strong sustainable business.
How can you strengthen yours to make building your business easier?
Feeling overwhelmed by the thought of this? No problem, just hit reply and let me know where you're at, and we can unpick what's holding you back.
